The nine rooms at the Hostal de Piaghja share the same sense of comfort and the same attention to detail, yet they never quite tell the same story. From one floor to the next, the tones shift, the lines soften or assert themselves, the materials create distinct atmospheres. Some reveal themselves in a light, powdery palette, others draw on lime plaster, vaulted ceilings, an antique piece of furniture, a bolder contrast. All have their own presence, their own rhythm, their own way of inhabiting the house.
A room with ecru tones, pervaded by an immediate sense of calm. The encaustic tiles structure the space with refinement, while the Napoleon bedside tables add a more classical note, almost silent, that gives the room its bearing. The atmosphere remains soothing, uncluttered, with just enough character to leave a lasting impression.

Here, everything rests on the gentleness of the composition. Natural tones envelop the room without weighing it down, the parquet warms the space, and the contrasting bathroom, with its freestanding basin, introduces an elegant rigour into a decor of sober lines. A very well-balanced room, held with delicacy.

Room 3 stands out first for its generous ceiling height, which transforms the perception of the space and creates a sense of ease, comfort and freedom. The volume is clean and well-proportioned, with a more expansive feel than the other rooms. A small private terrace opens to the outside, offering a peaceful haven in which to savour a coffee in complete tranquillity.

On the upper floor, Room 4 looks out over the village and the garden. Its charm lies in this immediate connection with Calenzana. The freestanding bathtub brings a freer grace to the whole, in an open and harmonious room.

Room 5 takes a freer path in its choice of colours. Pastel pink, purple, burgundy, yellow: the palette is more present here, without losing its measure. The result is a very composed room, with a genuine personality.

Lower, more contained, Room 6 of this boutique hotel has something of a retreat about it. Set in a vaulted cellar with a glazed door, it favours intimacy over openness. Its smaller size contributes to its tone: there is a sense of withdrawal here, a feeling of shelter, a quieter way of inhabiting the house.

Room 7 also belongs to the world of vaulted cellars, but in a more expansive and loftier version. The glazed entrance door gives it a distinctive character from the outset. The light remains discreet, and it is precisely this restraint that gives the room its depth. The bathroom with a shower fitted with a bench invites you to relax after a long day in the sun.
Amenities:
Room 8 sets itself apart from the rest. Beneath the vault, the bathtub presides at the centre of the room, exposed, unapologetic, a centrepiece placed there with intention. The niche carved into the back wall completes the room's singular character, between intimacy and the nobility of materials. Quite possibly the finest room in the house.

Room 9 has the lightness and brightness of a jewellery box. The white lime plaster, the light parquet, the garden-level window: everything conspires to capture the sunlight, to let it move softly from one surface to another. The chestnut wardrobe introduces a warm, almost protective presence. The bathroom, dressed in glass tiles, does not break the charm but extends it.
